  1. Jessica,

Sorry, just got through reviews yesterday evening. Leaving tomorrow morning for North Carolina, Maine, and Canada. So this leaves little time. I would do what you can to continue documenting (photographically, and through sketch) moments that contribute to your research.

    The itinerary looks great.

As for the book... I have an image in my head of a series of statements that decribe the act, the structure, and the need/desire to dwell. Coupled with each of these sttements or quotes is a descriptive image; a photo or a sketch. It could be small - a small text box on the right side centered in the page with a full bleed image on the left side of each layout. IT could be divided into chapters based upon types of "dwelling" or thoughts on "dwelling". I don't know really.

That is just an image of what this thing could be that I have floating through my head - and it is far from a mandate. Perhaps, it could give you some ideas though.

This is what I would like to see happen in regards to the book. I think you should lay out a first pass or two between now and coming to Cincy. You can continue collecting images and the like and begin correlating your photos and sketches with some of the positions you have been able to take (or just identiifed as a possible position to take) regarding "dwelling" and its archtectural implications. We can meet prior to the begining of the quarter or maybe even immediately thereafter and continue the discussion once I can see what your work in front of me.

I think this is going to be a very big thing for you - I think it already has been a big thing for you. Because of that I don't want to see it rushed together you know. Although it shouldn't distract you from your courses this coming quarter, I wouldn't have a problem if were to develop this book going into the Fall. Do you see that as an option? The advantage to that would be that we would be n fairly constant contact (I am ether your design prof. or will be right next to your studio).

    JE
